Beaded animals

I recently bought a cute book, "japanese miniature beaded animals", it's a French translation of a German book and possibly a translation from Japanese. One thing for sure, it's a japanese method of stringing beads on nylon thread, and you get 3D animals. But they are tiny tiny !!!

So I made a chick, a bunny and a kitten. And of course I intend to make more !!!

Necklaces and a scrunchie

This week I started work, and I'm sick (sinusitis, conjonctivitis and tonsillitis all at once?), so I made a few things, but didn't blog. As I slept a lot... I can't do all !

First, a scrunchie. I thinkt these are neat. Can't find those in shops, and scrunchies are a must for people with long hair. And many wear them in their wrist half the time, so... Needs to be pretty !

Then I made 2 necklaces. I finally found a necklace holder in a shop for commercial people. I found quite a few nice things for Christmas fairs as well. I'll have to go again closer to december ;)

--------------------------------------

Dark bracelet and bag

I'm still making experimental stuff. Here is a little dark bracelet, in crochet. I had doubts at first, but it looked good on me, so it's a keeper. Maybe I should find a way to incorporate some beads?

Then I couldn't help it : I had to crochet a bag. I usually get canal carpian and other hand pains when I crochet with a big hook. And here it was worse than usual, I had to crochet with 2 strands of yarn, and I had to use a lot of force to get through some holes, and it's hard on the hands. But isn't it worth it?

----------------------------------------------

First crochet necklace

Here is my first flower crochet necklace. I had doubts about the colours and such, but I think it looks good, even with the green thread !

Still experimenting with crochet flowers....

March is Crochet month in the US, I'm wondering if it's the same elsewhere in the world? I have to admit it's a coincidence if my craft of choice at the moment is crochet. Crochet jewellery to be exact. That's why I keep this notebook of flowers, to try different patterns to find the best.

So here is the first batch : a ring and ear clips. DBF told me to stiffen the flowers, and I used the usual glue/water mix, but the thread seems all tarnished ! I don't think stiffening is necessary in this case anyway....

I made a matching bracelet, not stiffened, and it looks better.

And here is a test garland: Mini leaves and flowers are crocheted at the same time as the chain.

---------------------------------------
