Happy Halloween !!!!

And here you can see DBF's decoration master piece for halloween. He's more excited about this day than he would be for Christmas.

So he decided to decorate with some of my stitchings (little pillows mostly, masks and other halloween stuff.

Note the ficus full of decorations. This tree used to be in his flat, but as he moved he didn't want it anymore, so... I drove it home for an hour and a half. But it seems happy to have more space in here anyway...
The plan tonight is to have a sort of celebration, with horror movie, crèpes and gifts. Don't ask....

The halloween Fairy is far from finished. It's hard to work all day, come home to spend time with DBF, and try to manage a bit of stitching in the middle. I'll have a few days off next week, I really need it !!!

Cameo, I think it would be difficult to send me stuff to finish, but I'm thinking about making a tutorial to make the Autumn harvest piece. I plan on making something similar for Christmas stuff...

-------------------------

Autumn Harvest really finished

I hear some people from here "she made a hornbook!!!"

Well no, it's a wooden bread plate over here. I found it in a craft store, it's not dissimilar to the one I made in kindergarden, so... it's probably a belgian thing.

Anyway, for 1.5 euros, I only had to varnish the wood, stick the design on cardboard before glueing on the wood, and voila ! I also found some wooden pumpkin decorations, and the whole thing is now on my kitchen wall.

The hobby shop on Saturday was quite a bust, no textile crafts whatsoever, and mostly painting, and train models. I will have to find stuff elsewhere...

-------------------------------

Bon....

Still working on the dress!!!

This is a big project. You can tell by the way I'm slowly trying to do cross by cross this big dress.

Ok, I had to spend a lot of time on the sparkly purple "Trick or treat". Originally I wanted to do the letters in the dress area, so that I wouldn' have to count space for them again and again.

Then it made sense to just finish the lettering.

On top of it, yesterday morning I started the last part of the dress int he wrong colour, so there was a bit of frogging involved (lost one hour stitching wrong and picking it).

Autumn holidays start today, DBF came to my place for the first time yesterday, and we already had fun eating at the local Teppan Yakki (japanese) restaurant !

Today seems to be a covered but mild Autumn day, I'm quite excited to go and check out the local hobby shop that has an "open doors" day today. I only know about this thanks to my grandma who sent me the leaflet, I never set foot at the shop yet !

That's the inconvienent of spending the week ends at DBF's: less local exploration at the week ends... ;)

------------------------------

Week end progress

Many of you will be glad to know that I am totally hooked on the Halloween Fairy. so that's the project I'm working on this week end, even in the middle of DBF's move.

And now it's a bit cleared out (we can use the kitchen, bed and tv... and obviously the net).

As usual, I made... the head first. And the owl, because the colours were the same as the skirt I'm stitching down.

I also stitched a bit of metallics, and I really enjoyed using the kreinik threads.

I now hope to finish it in time for Halloween...

---------------

Do I really have to choose?

As you can see on the "I'm stitching" section of the sidebar, I'm stitching 3 projects at the moment. Depending on how I feel...

- First, we have an Halloween Mill Hill kit. Cartboard, threads and beads. It will lovely in the end, but it's quite difficult with loads of different beads, and I can't do the sewing method.

This is the "I want a cute change" project".

- Then, I dug up the Halloween fairy, now that I have all but one Kreinik thread (the silver one i think).

Lovely design, but the fabric I chose a difficult fabric. Hard to know which hole to go through somehow...

But she's going to be so great once finished, I want to make the effort after all.

- And finally, "Welcome to the Nuthouse", here you see a part of the squirell. Big blocks, variegated threads, this is the simple no brain project.

Now you can see that after lines and lines of the same, I feel like doing a bit of the Halloween fairy ! ;)

Now, at home, no problem to switch. But what about the week end? do I have to take all three? Especially since it's moving day on Saturday for DBF, not really time to expend with beads and such !

In other news, someone made an offer on one of my houses (the Harlow one, the one I really want to get rid of), so I should have part of the burden lifted !

Autumn Harvest finished !

Well, there isn't much else to say... Except that you see I didn't stitch the alphabeth, and I added my name and date in the same cross stitch style (instead of the usual backstitch sign).

I think I will turn it into a frame or a cushion, I'm not sure yet...

Now I will stitch an Halloween Mill Hill kit I had for a long time...

-------------------------

A day in England...

6am: Mom picks me up from DBF's and off we go to Calais to take the shuttle to England, and... the Knitting and Stitching show in Alexandra Palace !

10am: We managed to be there at opening time. Long toilet queues, loads of people, loads of stuff to see and buy... The usual !

Less papercraft stands, and more beads. A good part of quilting, knitting and stitching... And beautiful things in the exposition part, wonderful quilts and such.

As shown on the picture, I got a lot of stuff. Threads for the Halloween fairy and Tinkerbell, Little House Needleworks, Lizzie Kate, Waxing moon patterns, fabrics, tatting books, Mill Hill snowmen kits...

2pm: We drive back to Folkestone. Shopping, tea, fish and chips and a tour at the beach ! The weather was wonderful, a true Indian Summer... A wonderful very long day from 6am to 22.30pm !!!

----------------------------

10h du mat: Nous avons réussi à arriver à l'ouverture du Knitting and Stitching Show à Alexandra Palace.

More autumn stuff

This is Autumn Harvest so far. It wom't be finished before tomorrow, when Mom and I go for the long trip to Alexandra Palace.

Leaving at 6am in Lille to be there at opening time at 10am, we will be back from the UK to France in the evening. I'm tired already !!!

I hope I will enjoy the expo... I could play treasure hunt and try and find some tatting in there, but I really doubt it.

I will take some tatting to pass the time in the car I think. I guess I will also have a bit of stitching.

After Autumn harvest I will stitch... I don't know ;)

Annie, the tatted pumpkin is way too big for a brooch, I was thinking about something like sewing it on felt or something...

-----------------------

Tatting of the season

Yes, it's all well and good to make snowflakes, but they will only be displayed in December.

So I made a pumpkin with this pattern, with threads i had since the age of time ! It's perle 5, so it's quite a big pumpkin... now i have to find a way to display it.

I'm still stitching on "autumn harvest", but I was stuck in bed with migraine yesterday, so you see how it doesn't progress fast ;)

-------------------------

Stitching witchie finished !

This week end, my parents came with furniture to put my books and crafty stuff, so I unpacked my last boxes yesterday. The craftroom starts to be decent again...

Despite a headache, I finished the little witch, but the colours seem to blend with the background, so she doesn't leap out of the fabric. oh well...

I don't know what I will turn her into, but I'm back to stitching Autumn Harvest !

-------------------------

Time for stitching... and witching...

This is where Annie calls me a spy... After i saw "stitchy Witchy" from Brooke Books on her blog, I had to stitch it !!!

I'm still using on the 14 count lilac aida (like Tinkerbell). And this is only 3 evenings work, and she's already well progressed.

Giny, some people seem to have problems getting TGOS, so I hope you finally got your issue !

Zohrah, what is Eid?

Kucki, it might be time for glasses (too much stitching might have strained your eyes? ), lol, a caterpillar????

----------------------------

Time for harvest ?

I seem to have lost everybody over the week end... I hope it's just because you are stitching for hours, making ornaments and such... and not because you worry about all the crisis stuff.

Today is the first day of October, and it means... "The Gift of Cross Stitching", and this month it's really good, with stitchers from Victoria Sampler and such...

More things for my to do list, oh no !!!

With my JCS Ornaments magazine came "Autumn harvest" from little House Needleworks. So I started it on Monday, on cream/yellow linen I got at the expo last week. It's nice to stitch. And if you check the picture on the side, you will notice that I left out the ABC....

---------------------------------------
