Slowly but surely...

I finally decided to continue tinkerbell this week end, and I have to say some of the colours are very weird. I can only hope DBF is right and that it's essential for the overall look.

Zohrah, why would you want me to move to Singapore? I would die from the heat !!! ;)

in the meantime, I will shortly stitch for Autumn ("Autumn Harvest" from LHN) and Halloween ("Stitchy Witchy"), before stitching Christmas ornaments. I don't think we'll see the halloween fairy this year anymore... too straining for my eyes...

---------------------

It takes a week !

Last Thursday I ordered the new JCS Christmas ornament magazine with "Autumn harvest" and "Reading" from LHN, and this Thursday... I got them !!!! there are so many nice things I want to stitch from there...

And the suspense is over, here is a first picture of my current project, a cute Tinkerbell !!!

This is a freebie from Pioute brode, she kindly sent me the pattern. And I started to stitch it on 14 count lilac aida. It's very nice to do, even if it's strange to make crosses so big !

Thank you so much for all your kind words. I can only live on a day to day basis and hope the new work would be a good opportunity for me.

And now I'm still very busy at work, but I mostly wonder what I wil take with me to stitch during the weekend !!!

----------------------------------------

Hard times again...

You know I moved recently to Belgium for a new job when I was made redundant in England... Well, after 3 weeks at the new job, the section was closed, and everybody was made redundant, except me and 2 others.

So yesterday was reliving a nightmare, more because I was spectator to the drama than actually living it though...

But for me it will mean a 45 min commute, and changing for an office based job I don't know the specifics yet. So I'm back to uncertainties for tomorrows and general thinkings about life and all the problems in the world...

But in the meantime, I finally put "dragon of hope" on my laptop bag...

This is the picture of the day, so you will see what I'm stitching well... tomorrow ;)

Ginny, i usually stitch those patterns in 2 days, so it was a reasonnable estimation, especially since I was on holidays with time on my hands !!!

--------------------------------------

Busy Needle finally finished !!!

Surprise !!!

---------------------------------------

Busy needle is finally finished !!! This small project was supposed to be 2 days work tops, but it took 2 months !!!

At first I wanted to turn it into a pouch, but I already have a few... Actually, this is my main problem. Why stitch stuff to put in cupboards? My are already full. Plus i don't want to put my frames up on the walls...

Anyway, Twisted Thread is really quick, I already have my tickets for Alexandra Palace !!!

And what about what I will stitch next? Surprise...

Salon ID-Créatives de Lille 2008

Today, English version afterwards (let's mix and match...)...

Yesterday morning, I took the underground in the sunny but chilly weather, despite my big cold.

The expo is in the urban but green area of Lille, and there weren't that many people outside.

But the queue for the tickets was huge. Well, it wasn't a queue, it was a mass of people wondering how giving 6euros for a ticket could take so long.

So it took quite some time, and then the expo wasn't that crowded.

The expo was small (about 30 stands max), but well organised, as the stands were groupped by craft, in different colours, and with the names well in evidence.

The first at the entrance was Sew it all, where I bought some fabrics and metallic threads.

The atmosphere was nice, kind of intimate, as it was mostly little shops from around France, and associations, like the lace makers in action.

So were very passionate about their craft, like that lady about chicken stitch (where I bought the patterns).

I also found a discount back issue of Marianne Noel I missed 2 years ago...

It was all quite quick, I was home at 11h30 !!!

Pre expo post

Every year, there is a craft show in Lille in September. As I have my holidays end of August, I always miss it, sometimes by only a few days, how frustrating !!!

So this was one of the things I was looking for this year in the middle of all the changes, even if looking at the list of stands, it's mostly cooking.

Being able to leave home 20min before the opening of an expo, how luxurious is this? Of course, there's always a downside: I have a bad cold. Scratchy throat and the works.

So we'll see...

Yesterday I got an email from 123Stitch, about the JCS ornament issue being available, so I ordered it straight away, alongside with the newest LHN patterns, the Harvest thing, and "Reading". This morning I realised i should have ordered "Needlework shop" from CCN too, but well... At least my order is already on its way, youhou !!!

----------------------------------

Halloween fairy progress

You will guess it: it will take some time for me to get back to crafting and posting. I had to face a slow old computer linked with all the printers, scanners, etc... and a good laptop with nothing. So I had to use a hub to be able to get all the stuff to my laptop, and reinstall drivers, etc...

Of course, I also have other stuff to do, and worries like my two English houses I don't seem to be able to sell in the crisis time we are living in.

Anyway, here is my progress on the Halloween Fairy, which is difficult to stitch because of the fabric. I find it hard to see the holes !!!

Zohrah, I think my connection is something like 12Mbps, it's fast enough for me... I usually just surf and send emails, so...

Thank you all for your comments about the snowflake !!!

-----------------------

Back to buisness...

And here I am, with my lovely new connection at home, but a limitation of 30Gb transfert per month (???)

I'm still very busy, and not in crafting mood... but here is a new snowflake I made and gave to my grandma already....

-------------------

The longuest week of my life

Just in case you are wondering... here is a little update of my week:

- Saturday, move in the blistering hot weather. 2 movers to carry all my stuff 4 floors through a tiny lift and stairs
- Sunday: migraine
- Monday : first day of work. It all went ok. But my week had very long days, especially since I go to my grandma's after work, so I'm not home before 8pm.
- Week end in Lille
- Back home tonight
- Start the week again...

in all this, no stitching (I even displaced the Halloween Fairy) and just a little tatting, as I fall asleep in front of the telly every night ;)

2 more weeks without the internet at home....

-----------------------------
